Why Consumables?

So just like billion (ok, thousands) of people who ask themselves, should I start a blog, and if I do what should I call it? I thought lets see if anyone is interested in all or many of the things I like. Anyone who knows me knows that food and drink are essential to what I love, and barbecue in particular. Then there is traveling and books, TV, movies, art, politics,  and pop culture in all its aspects. My job as a newly minted high school librarian should provide moments of fun as I move away from the middle school setting.

So why consumables?

Because most of what I want to talk about is those ephemeral objects that are here for a moment and then gone so quickly. I am fascinated to see if this is interesting to anyone but me and a few family members but at the very least it should improve my writing ability as i go along.
